[i]weekendwench: This is insane

I really have been felling the pressure lately.  I really can't stand the waiting any more.  Case worker said 2-4 weeks....that will be up on Wednesday.  If your going to say "no" then say it already!!!  Why make us wait it out?  I am just sick of the waiting game.  Either give us the residency VISA or tell us "no" but get off your arse and do SOMETHING!

I have really been out of sorts lately.  Don't know if it is the pain from the back (which seems to finally be getting better) or the hormones from the Mirena.....or just the 2 year old that sucks my every ounce of energy...but I have been a real bitch lately.  Sad and moody...much more so than usual...and terribly lonely.

I just want to fall from the face of the earth. Wow...I didn't know we had a bottle of Jose Cuervo.  I just looked over at the wine cabinet and there she sits....oh yeah...I remember now.  Jess brought it over for a pot luck one night.  I swear to God if we finally get out marching orders we are going to have a big party on the spot and drink till we pass out and I fall into a deep diabetic coma!!!

The same thing applies if we don't get them...with less celebrating and more drinking of course.  I just realized something...oh funny....haha...I did a tarot reading last Saturday...said we would have our answer in 10 day or less......10 days puts us at Wednesday....hysterically funny Tarot cards...jokesters they are sometimes.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I am rambling like a complete madwoman....and yes I have become one...moody...dark...angry with a black cloud over my pretty head......just make a decision already!

HOLY CRAP SOMEONE HAS FORKED GNUSTO

IS THIS NOT SO COOL

THIS IS SO COOL

THANK YOU WORLD

the end.

Update and explanation, now I have calmed down a bit: In 2002 I wrote a program called Gnusto. It took game programs written in the eighties and translated them into JavaScript. This meant that a browser could run them. But then I discovered that the difficult part was the user interface, in other words actually doing the windows and text and so on on the screen, rather than making the game work. In those days it was a weird black magic to make web applications work on IE and Mozilla, so I specialised it into a plugin for Mozilla (i.e. Seamonkey), and then Firefox. At about this time [info]naltrexone came along to join the team, and that is how we all originally got to know one another.

But then Firefox 2 was so different from Firefox 1 that the user interface needed to be practically rewritten, and I didn't really want to take on the work, and although [info]naltrexone tried some things out I don't think it ever ran as well as it once had. And then Firefox 3 came along and things were all over the place. So Gnusto doesn't run much any more, which is a shame for something which had at least a year of development time put into it.

Anyway, we talk a lot about Free Software. Some people suppose it means software you don't have to pay for. It doesn't mean that: it means software which grants you certain freedoms. One of those is the right to change the way it works and make that into a whole new program, which is called "forking"; this right is often called "the right to fork". Last week someone announced he had forked Gnusto into a new system called Parchment, which will let you play any of these hundreds of games on the web with almost any modern browser. People took what Eric and I had done and mashed it up and made something beautiful with it. That is the power of freedom. That is why I'm happy.

Hello,
I am just a 25 year old Male Nerd, reaching out to my own community in search of kindred spirits. My love for the technically inclined can not be understated. Mostly because I find myself in those shoes every day. Fixing/programming/hacking/soothing and explaining my way up the Corp. ladder. :)

I enjoy writing novels, reading novels, programming, gaming, and to the same extent outside activities. I watch Anime, and have a decent knowledge of the force...*cough* i mean Anime. Outside i like to go on short hiking trips and camping sometimes. It's good to interface with with nature...

Well i look forward to reading future comments and posts from this Community.

Two hours on the ground in Philly due to bad weather but I'm here and the plane didn't blow up. Now I'm starved and heading out for food with a couple of other conference people. After I got on the shuttle to the hotel this other long haired scruffy guy wearing a Steely Dan shirt and carrying a copy of Return of the King came up and I knew he was here for the conference. He's the only long haired guy I've seen since Atlanta.

Off to eat, I'm starved.

Just landed in Philly. Got an 45 min stop then back onto the same plane, same seat. Left Atl just as the rain hit so it was bumpy for a while and it's storming here too. Stayed on the runway in Atlanta a while and the man sitting next to me who was on his way to Greece to visit family was fairly nervous and just wanted to chat nonstop about everything imaginable. Got his whole life story while we waited. Once in the air he was fine and said his goodbyes to me, his new friend, when we disembarked a few minutes ago.

It's hot as hell here at this airport but they do have free WiFi.
