speaking of consecrated goat packets...

a bunch of us are getting together
to go to the geotta fest sunday
morning.

i am hoping to go early, simply because
it is supposed to be extraordinarily
hot that day.

anyway, if anyone else would like to
go with, i think anna, amy, and eck
(and i) are meeting up at my place
930-ish, then heading down to the
levee around 10. all are welcome to
join.

alright, i just made geotta for the first
time using the...whatzit...fire-machine.
stove. whatever.

very good job for a tyro.

on a related subject, (via reason hnr)news from india:

Allies of India's ruling Congress party performed a massive goat sacrifice for the "well-being and stability" of the government to time with a confidence vote last week, a report said Thursday.

The regional Samajwadi party, which propped up the government after its left allies withdrew support, sacrificed at least 267 goats and 15 buffaloes in a prayer for the longevity of the government, the Times of India reported....

Samajwadi party politician Kishore Samrite apparently spent 1.2 million rupees (28,000 dollars) on the sacrifice that saw priests and temple devotees gifted with packets of consecrated goat meat, his aides and temple sources told the paper.

dock

work is going well today, i
think.

i will definently be at the dock
tonight. in fact, i am going to
try and get there early.

who else is coming?

Mon, Oct. 15th, 2007, 09:44 pm
do it...with yams

qotd, from wikipedia:

"In many cultures the yam is considered the most sensual of the tubers."

although, i think i like horseradish and
sweet potatoes more.

im feeling strangely free today

for reasons unknown, i have access to
google douments. i am not holding my
breath and thinking this is anything
other than a temporary glitch.

(and i expect them to fix the glitch
soon)

but it is nice to dream. it would be very
cool to access my writing during breaks.

food response

i need to do this more often...

in regards to lunch:

steamed sea scallops with garlic
spinach and sticky, sesame rice
with rice wine soy sauce.

spinach, crab, artichoke, and cheese
dip with pita chips.

i love spinach, but normally i strongly
dislike it steamed. but that was really
quite amazing. i dont know what they
did to it, but i couldnt stop eating it!

i need to eat out more often, i think.

not every day certainly. but once a
week wouldnt kill me.

Fri, Oct. 5th, 2007, 11:16 am
fry day

today is friday.

lunch is paid for by my employer.
mitchell's fish market.

not sure what else is up.

looking forward to the weekend.

lunch

right now, i am having an at work
lunch. paid for by my employer,
as all lunches this week have
been.

yesterday was pasta from brio's.

today was mongomery inn. i had
the ribs, rolls, salad, crab cakes,
and the saratoga chips.

i am satiated...

Thu, Oct. 4th, 2007, 09:24 am
slowdown

somehow, someway, today seems
to be even slower than yesterday.

ive been here for 2 hours and done
precicesly 3 tickets. 2 emails and
an inbound call.

very very slow.

im debating what to do this weekend.
a few people have sent me some
suggestions. i may go to the pirate
thing at the museum center.

anything esle going on?

Wed, Oct. 3rd, 2007, 10:39 am
thats why im easy...

this has to be the slowest day of
work i have ever had since working
here. reminds me of cbw at quarter
to midnight on a sunday.

currently, i am studying the martial
industrial music genre (largely a
european movement) and what is
required to create an os from scratch;
something ive been meaning to try.

so...i am thinking of going to the dock
_next_ thursday. (i really didnt have
that great a time last time i went)

what is everyone else up to this week?

aythin gon for this weekend?

plan of attack...for dinner

okay, so here are the details for
this week:

Wednesday, we are having a dinner
thing at The Corinthian on jefferson,
to celebrate by birthday. we are
shooting for 630. which should be
planty of time to get ready and get
down there after work.

Thursday will be a big party for all
of the Virgos. no one has really
thrown any suggestioins out there,
so, how about Indian food. Ambar
on Ludlow? (acroos the street from
the Clifton Library) at 600 or 630.

Are those cool? would other times
be better? any other suggestions
for a thursday location?

more importantly, who can and
cannot come? i need some clue of
how many people will ba at each
place so I can make the reservations.

please, questions? comments?

previously

went to the dock last night.

it was kind of dead, but picked up
after 1am. not the best night, but
pretty good.

the way down side is that now, i
am a zombie. i hunger for human
brains. i walk amongst the living,
but i am not one of the...

really, it started with a fairly eloquent
plan. i would get home early (and i
did), i would go to bed as soon as
i got in (also, rightly accomplished),
and then get at least 4 hours of sleep
before taking off.

that last bit turned out to be the sticky
point. i couldnt sleep. at all. and it
took longer than i thought to get down
to the dock, took longer than i thought
to get home.

the end result is, i am here, at work,
operating on less than 2 hours of
sleep.

there is planning to do for the weekend,
and i cant do it. so...while my mind
is inoperable, iwill be relying on
everyone else to use their brains.

their delicious brains...

Thu, Sep. 13th, 2007, 07:32 am
next week...

...is my birthday. and several other
friends as well.

i have a few things planned for the
next week or so:

this weekend; not sure. i would
really like to have a grill out or
something, but im not sure if anyone
would be up for it.

i am not aware of anything
happening monday. should i be
aware of something? what are
you people keeping from me?

tuesday afternoon, i am having
dinner with family. so, i wont be
available.

Weds, the 19th, most probably an
inexpensive dinner, likely at the
Corinthian. of course, everyone is
invited. also, we have to make sure
X is in on this.

i know a few people cant make it
for weds. (including at least one of
the birthday kids) so, how about we
have a dinner for all of the virgos this
thursday? would everyone be cool
with something like that? any
suggestions as to location? i am
half tempted to suggest bar louie,
much as it is despised. i havent been
there in like, a year.

regardless, (as i have taken next friday
off) i am going to the Dock on thursday
night. i had a pretty good time this
past saturday, and i mean to make
it out there more in the future.

A bunch of us are getting together on
Friday (as usual). i am not sure if
gaming is going on. certainly we will
be doing food and movies. also, we
havent played settlers in a long long
time...

Saturday I am heading out to Oktober
Fest (trying to get a group together).
i usually prefer to go early, (it starts
at 11am) but then, its running until
midnight, so really, there is no rush.
i was hoping to get a carpool together
as parking will be insane. alternately,
we could meet up near ludlow and
bus down.

Sunday, I may try to make it to the
Ren Fest. Barring that, I may see the
pirate exhibit on Sunday instead.

comments? ideas? who would like to
go with? i am very open to suggestions.

more later.

Thu, Sep. 13th, 2007, 07:10 am
morning

i got in to work before 7am today, a
little over half an hour early.

the weather is wonderful. clear. dark.
brisk. it is actually cold outside.
(according to weather.com, its 51
right now) its very beautiful this
morning.

i love walking around when its like
this. it is, perhaps, the one thing i
miss about working until midnight.

contemplating going to the dock
tonight, but it would mean going to
sleep the instant i got home.

is anyone else going?

well, i have power once more.
and dealing with more issues at

believe i will be making it.

i may just watch a few movies at

in joining?
